Some of us may not care about the Amiibo but for those that do and are looking to complete a collection, it’s not an easy task. All that shortages cause is annoyance to people who are looking to buy them.

To be more fairer, it is arguable though that making enough of the figures in the first place would have been a better move. In a move to stop bulk buying, which would probably result in them being sold again at higher prices restrictions on the Amiibo in the Nintendo Store are one character per customer, which appears to be a move to make the purchasing of the rare characters fair. Just by doing a search on Ebay you can see the proof of this. Through limiting stock they can also make sure that the demand is greater than the supply which leads to a little price war between fans. Nintendo have been quite shrewd with the selling of the Amiibo, tapping into the popularity of not only collecting figures but also the abilities that they give to players. Don’t take your time buying them though as they are likely to be limited in stock, and to sell out fast. The rare Amiibo that are now in stock again are Wii Fit Trainer, Wario, Sonic, Ganondorf, Palutena, Zero Suit Samus, Dark Pit, Zelda, and Captain Falcon. Anybody who wants to collect Amiibo will be well aware of just how hard some of them are to get a hold on.
